Founder, Clinical Director
MA, HBASc., RSSW & Registered Psychotherapist (Q)
Hi there, Ameena here!
I completed a Master's degree in Counselling Psychology, an HBASc degree in Family and Community Social Services, and a diploma in Social Service Work. I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying), a Registered Social Service Worker (RSSW), and a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT).

I work with individuals with various cultural backgrounds, religions, and socioeconomic identities. I want to create an environment where mental health care and education are inclusive, accessible and affordable.
Ameena means “safe one” in Arabic. In my practice, I offer a safe space for you to explore every layer of yourself, gain new perspectives, and feel empowered to face your toughest thoughts and emotions. I work with you to create a healing journey that honours your unique needs. My approach is humanistic, culturally adaptive, collaborative, and mindful.
Mission Statement
Through a variety of counselling and wellness approaches,
Ameena Therapy Services is a practice dedicated to helping you care for your mind, body, and soul.
Emotional Distress
Sadness, stress, and anxiety are common emotional experiences, but when they become overwhelming or persistent, they can interfere with your daily life and overall well-being.
A therapist can help you navigate emotional distress by providing a space to explore your thoughts and feelings, build awareness, strengthen self-esteem, and develop tools to manage challenges in a safe and healthy way.
Substance Use
Individuals may seek the support of a therapist when facing challenges related to substance use and misuse.

Therapy can help by addressing underlying issues, fostering healthy coping mechanisms, connecting you with helpful resources, and offering ongoing support throughout your recovery journey.
Relationships
Therapy benefits people, whether alone, with a spouse, or as a family, seeking to improve their emotional bonds at any life stage.
A therapist can offer a secure, non-judgmental space for you and your loved one(s) to address issues and discover solutions, fostering stronger relationships together or individually.
